How to Install old-style Plone Skins on Plone 2.1, 2.5 or non-buildout Plone 3
The following are general instructions for free or premium old-style themes (not egg packages) installation on Plone 2.1, Plone 2.5, and Zope instance without buildout for Plone 3. There is INSTALL.txt file in every theme's /docs directory with the exact installation instructions for every theme.
You can install Alternative Plone Skins in the same way as other Plone products:
- Follow the link on the skin page on this website to get Plone skin zip archive.
- Install as Zope product: extract Plone skin from archive to Products directory of your Zope instance
- Restart Zope (Plone).
- Install in your Plone instance with QuickInstaller (Plone Control Panel -> Add/remove Products)
- Now your Plone site should have the corresponding skin look.
Note 1: In case you use buildout-based Plone Instance - follow How to Install old-style Plone Skins on buildout-based Plone 3 instance instructions.
Note 2: All Plone skins were created with Plone skin dump product. So you can install several Free or Commercial Plone skins without conflicts. If you install one of the Alternative Plone Skins then all other skins created with Plone skin dump product should be automatically uninstalled.
